on its first release, orioni makes its debut on 12inch with four tracks made in argentina. with jonas kopp, luis ruiz, mental resonance, and matt saderlan. this ep comes packed with four dancefloor weapons: jonas kopp with >mandelbrot<, contributes with a massive pounding rhythm full of atmospheres, with his classic groove based on solid kicks and hypnotic vibes, jonas presents full drum action around the percussion and sequences. for the a2 >triplets< is a track with a catchy 303 bass-line and roland drums programmed by luis ruiz. its acid classic signature comes with the task of bringing back that old school techno sound , whose roots had got lost in time. in the other side, mental resonance: >birth of omega century< has that fresh detroit techno style, and is ready to energize dance-floors with the groove of the 909 and hypnotic synthesizers. at least but not last, matt saderlan with >kids dist days<, destructive, corrosive and distorted letal weapon for acid lovers. no need to check your volume leds, yes, it is that banging. orioni has begun!

bobby b (a.k.a andre ferreira) is perhaps best known as bobby browser, as he is previously issued a pair of eps for the 100% silk label under that name. those records were excellent, but its fair to say that his icee hot debut finds ferreira exploring a richer, deeper sound. >history< is slow-burning deep house jaunt that subtly nods to detroit along the course of its soul-drenched journey. >so true< warms things up, but only slightly, as its relaxed tones, warbling melodies, and loosely stitched breakbeat offer a blissed-out path to the dancefloor.

location 141? location unknown? although one would hazard a guess at somewhere in the ether between chicago and detroit (that is, of course, if we didnt know any better). this mysterious créature de la nuit sits comfortably between the two places of influence and bends them into his own style to herald rogue cat sounds first emergence of 2014 and, in doing so, unfurls two killer, bumpin and weighty jams for the discernable discoid freaks in all of us.

considering the combined talents of detroit veteran terrence dixon and black jazz consortium man fred p, you d expect this split ep for finale sessions to be a lesson in warm, soul-flecked depth. pleasingly, that s exactly what it delivers. dixon excels with the sub-sporting alien futurism of -to the bridge- - the aural equivalent of staring into space while dancing to electronic jazz - and the sumptuous, minor key bliss of the casual deep house jam -starting over-. fred p, meanwhile, delivers two contrasting cuts. there s some acid-fuelled deep house futurism in the shape of -circuit-, and a chunk of bongo-laden dancefloor humidity in -the road-, whose rising strings and sweet melodies are arguably the highlight of a superb ep.

if you re going to launch a label, it s always wise to start with a bang. that s exactly what newcomers audio visual have done here, recruiting detroit veteran terrence dixon and chez damier cohort michael zucker (boss of finale recordings, no less) for a four-track trip into deep techno and intergalactic house. dixon goes deep into the groove on the hissing, intoxicating deep techno roller -mta-, before delivering a touch more melody on the retro-futurist gem -over the top-. zucker, on the other hand, opts for a jaydee-does-deep house feel to -foundation (part 1)-, before setting off towards the heavens with the deliciously deep, smooth reflections

bulletdodges next instalment comes from us producer sean ray, delivering a single called deep 454 with 3 superb remixes from mgun, space djz & mr o and gareth whitehead. seans original track is a deep affair, heralding sparkling pads and grooving percussion. the track is cemented by a dark yet infectious piano riff and soulful bassline to make it a dancefloor classic. first up on remix duties is ur’s very own newcomer mgun. mgun has been taking the scene by storm lately with his incredible productions and his take on sean’s deep 454 is no exception. for this remix he has provided us with a detroit infused gem of a track. he has used soulful pads that eminate detroit and an upfront kick to create nothing short of a masterpiece. for the next remix we have an exciting collaboration between techno stalwarts space djz and one half of the detroit grand pubha’s mr o. their joint venture has produced a deep techno monster. it has a solid bassline and hypnotic use of the pads that shouts out 5am madness. lastly to remix deep 454 is bulletdodge’s head honcho gareth whitehead who has created a more old school stripped back deep house vibe. his tight drum programming and clever usage of the original tracks pads and piano riff rounds this perfect package off very nicely. supported so far by audio injection, colin dale, craig richards, dj deep, gary beck, paul mac, pig & dan, samuel l. session, sasha carassi, skream, slam, tom hades and vince watson plus many more!!!
